Steam Hammer in a Main Nuclear Steam System
Background
In this supercritical nuclear power station in China, steam at 6.43 MPa and 280.14oC, is used to generate the power. It is heated in 3 x 1936.08 tons/hr boilers and flows through pipes of 758 x 28 mm and 616 x 22 mm inner diameter.
PIPENET was used to estimate the dynamic forces caused by the fast closure of the main steam valves as well as the redistribution of steam after turbine trip.
