PIPENET VISION 1.13.0

Welcome to the PIPENET VISION® 1.13.0 release

We are pleased to deliver many fabulous enhancements across all modules to save time and make the PIPENET experience even better.

PIPENET Vision® 1.13.0 Transient Module

  • Calculation of CO2 properties at subcritical, supercritical and near critical state.
  • New orifice component for flow and pressure control.
  • New default calculation timestep.
  • New air valve library for the air valve and vacuum breaker models.
  • Improved compatibility of the dry pipe and channel cavitation models.
  • New overflow-type simple tank model to allow the calculation when the tank overflows.
  • Increased number of pipes in the schedule library.
  • More diameters in pipe schedules – Transient Standard:
    • Nominal bore DN700 (NPS 28 in) is now included in AnsiB36010_S and several library schedules have been updated with DN8 (NPS 0.25 in). This brings the respective schedules in line with their counterparts in the Standard module.
    • The user-defined schedules allow twelve additional large nominal diameters from DN1050 (NPS 42 in) to DN2000 (NPS 80 in), bringing the total up to 53 entries (43 with preset nominal bores and 10 with Unset nominal bores).
  • Improved calculation speed and stability for several models (dry pipe 2 model, limiting power ramp transfer function, non-return valve, two-node caisson models).
  • Check valves usually form an isolated sub-network in which the pressure may have multiple solutions, i.e. the system pressure may be extremely and unreasonably high. The check valve models (non-return valve, check valve and inertial check valve) are improved to give a reasonable initial pressure.

PIPENET Vision® 1.13.0 Spray/Sprinkler Module

  • New Power-Law fluid capability (non-Newtonian fluids):
    • Allows for the use of non-Newtonian fluids for various temperatures assuming power-law behaviour.
    • A new foam concentrate library allows for the definition of foam concentrates, like SFFF foams, using vendor data to be input by the user.

PIPENET Vision® 1.13.0 Standard Module

  • Addition of velocity pressure for compressible flow.
  • Improved calculation of the pressure drop for power law fluid (non-Newtonian fluids) when the flowrate is low.
  • Improved Sunrise fittings when the velocity is equal to 0.
  • More standard diameters in pipe schedules:
    • Nominal bore DN700 (NPS 28 in) is now included in AnsiB36010_10 and several library schedules have been updated with DN32 (NPS 1.25 in). This brings the respective schedules in line with their counterparts in the Transient (Standard) module.
    • The user-defined schedules allow twelve additional large nominal diameters from DN1050 (NPS 42 in) to DN2000 (NPS 80 in), bringing the total up to 53 entries (43 with preset nominal bores and 10 with Unset nominal bores).
